Born in the heart of Hollywood, California, photographer / visual-artist Kevin Abosch has made a reputation for himself internationally for his quiet yet provocatively disarming celebrity portraits. Sought after by entertainers, politicians and World dignitaries alike, Abosch's images unfold tales of truth which according to the artist "may be accessed very quickly and just below the surface, not quite as deeply as one might think". It is his obsessive quest with finding this truth that keeps him engaged in his art -- Even when juxtaposed against a backdrop of stylized artifice, his subjects seem to radiate with authenticity. With subjects from the likes of actor Johnny Depp and painter David Hockney to United Nations Secretary General Kofi Annan, Abosch is not merely photographer or even iconographer but sees himself as an "interpreter of the soul". He relates, "For me, the idea that an image could impact someone in a way not unlike music's ability to work viscerally, transcending intellect is a powerful concept and one which I'm constantly trying to explore both in my photographs and films".
