The angle of the legs can be locked in 3 different positions to greatly vary the height of the tripod for high or low angle photography. Each leg lock can also be set independently, so you can set up quickly and easily on steps or other uneven terrain.
The groove in each leg section, created in dynamically strong circular metal tubing, prevents the legs from turning when tightening or loosening the twist release leg locks. This provides a more simple and secure locking method during setting up or folding down.
The large contoured rubber-grip twist leg locks make it easier to securely lock and release the individual leg sections. This makes setting up and folding down THE PROFESSIONAL series tripods much more easy and comfortable than expected.
The SLIK tripod head has 2 bubble levels for easy leveling of your camera. The bubble levels are recessed in the camera mount plate to protect them against damage.
By replacing the standard center column for a shorter center column (optional accessory), you can get a very low height of 15.2 inches (385 mm) with these heavy-duty tripods, excellent for low angle or macro photography in the field.
The second section of each leg has grooved (indented) reference marks at 10 cm intervals, allowing for easy and level intermediate height adjustments of the tripod.
Center column elevation uses a meshed worm gear that will only raise or lower the column when you turn the crank so there are no accidental movements of the camera to be concerned with.
THE PROFESSIONAL series has both large (3/8) and standard (1/4-20) threaded camera-mounting posts. When one is not in use, the post fits into a socket in the side of the head where it is out of the way yet always available.
The reversible tripod head mounting screw on the center column lets you use the widest variety of heads from any manufacturer with either large or standard screw mount sizes.
